This page is dedicated to what keeps me busy, when the surf is flat.

One of my favorite lamps, that I proudly display, in my livingroom. I knew the moment Jimmy cleanly skinned the board, it had to be a lampshade. It took me a year to find the right bamboo root to compliment it, for the base. The hardware came from an old lamp that was re-proposed. I shocked myself when it was completed. I had no idea what I was doing, but it felt right, so I went with it. It just spoke to me. © Becky McCormack

I've started a new website. It is going to feature items that I have made from objects found on the beaches of South Padre Island. I love walking the beach. Nature offers many treasures to those willing to slow down a little. Please take a little time and visit My Etsy Shop.

Sometimes life likes to crap on your doorstep. It is up to us to find the beauty in it. Last spring they dredge the channel, dumping tons of clay on our beautiful beach. During my walks on the beach, I started finding olive shells and sundails. If you looked closer you might even find a whelk or two.

I have no clue what the petals are. The center is a Shark Eye. They remind me of my favorite flower, the plumeria. I can't wait to hang some on my tree.

Every walk on the beach is different. You never know what the tide has brought. On occasion the driftwood washes in. One can only imagine where it came from. Did it come from the Rio Grande? Or from the beautiful coastline of Mexico?

Digital photography has taken a piece of soul out of Photography. No more stained clothes, smelly chemicals and creating in darkness. No more creating photographs with your hands, now it is done with a touch of a button. I have found a new way to keep my hands and spirit content.

Surfboard Resin Lampshade w/ Bamboo Root ~ $465.00

I always love an excuse to head to the north end of South Padre and now I have one. I need to replenish my Quahog supply, because I just made a bunch of new fish. This is one shell that is hard to come by on the south end of the island, but there are plenty of them on the north end.

It's been two long years, but it's done. I have finally put mirrors up in the trailer. The trailer came with some nice smokey glass mirrors straight from the 70's. We removed them along with the gold toliet. My biggest problem was finding a mirror I liked. I couldn't find one so I made my own. It is a very strange feeling to be able to see oneself, when you have gone so long without a view.

Sundial and Olive Shell Mirror ~ $100.00
